Job Summary
Contribute to coordinated efforts preparing high-quality products for retail stores by cutting and trimming fresh meat items and participating in product distribution. Ensure full compliance with company policies, government regulations, and Farm Boy standards for cleaning, sanitation, health, and safety while optimizing efficiency. Provide support to fellow team members, assist management with inventory-taking and packaging ordering, and improve business practices of the Central Meat Production facility. Work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a cold environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires completion of a related post-secondary program
- minimum of 3 years of cutting experience in a high-volume meat department or meat production operation
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Superior standards of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety
- Good organizational, time management and communication skills
- Strong team-oriented approach to tasks
- Detail oriented as it pertains to execution of daily tasks
- Willingness to strictly adhere to company policies and procedures with little supervision
- Positive outlook with a history of proven dependability and commitment
- Ability to make sound decisions and to carry out initiatives timely and effectively
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Required to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment during shift
- Ability to work in a cold environment (2 to 4 degrees Celsius)
- May be required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objects
- Required to stand for extended periods of time
