Job Summary

Meat Clerk position handling customer service in the Meat and/or Seafood Department. Responsibilities include wrapping, trimming, stocking cases, receiving merchandise, loading/unloading heavy items, assisting customers by escorting them to products, addressing requests, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, rotating stock, and following department guidelines. Requires strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, ability to learn customers’ names, and ability to operate department equipment such as wrapping systems, slicers, tenderizers, grinders, and other tools. Six months or less of related work preferred; High School or equivalent experience required; physical ability to perform tasks in a cool, fast-paced environment with exposure to noise and cleaning solvents. Employment contingent upon successful pre-employment drug screen.

Required Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent experience
  • Six months or less of similar or related work
  • Ability to lift up to 85 pounds occasionally and 40 pounds frequently, ability to perform physical activities (standing, walking, lifting, reaching, etc.)
  • Food safety training (preferred)
  • Attention to sanitation and hygiene standards
