Job Summary
Provide customer service in the meat department in a friendly, professional manner; assist in maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and appealing department; portion and package meat products (e.g., sausage, fajitas, kabobs, stuffed peppers) per customer requests; promote featured items and refer customers to appropriate aisles; handle returns and customer inquiries; ensure product quality through proper rotation; operate knives and equipment safely; support team goals, attend department and store meetings, and adhere to policies and health-code requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to properly handle sharp knives and other hazardous equipment
- Able to work independently
- Ability to perform basic math for cutting test, pricing, inventory, etc.
- Previous customer service experience with a friendly, outgoing personality
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to understand Department of Health regulations, and complete Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment
