Job Summary
Meat Clerk responsibilities include supporting meat department operations (readiness, staffing, supervision, pricing, policies, inventory, and cleanliness), assisting in replenishment and inventory processes (ordering, receiving, invoicing, back stock, reclamation), maintaining merchandising and sales floor standards (stocking, displays, sampling), following equipment procedures, and upholding safety and quality standards. Emphasizes building relationships, conscientiousness, customer service, integrity, and alignment with Harps’ mission and SMILE program guidelines. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and operating in varied environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- One year previous experience in meat market retail grocery store preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Moves, lifts, carries and places merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds
- Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Frequent standing and walking; ability to perform physical tasks in a retail environment
- Exposure to allergens and cleaning solvents as noted in job description
