Job Summary
The Meat Associate is responsible for preparing high-quality meat products including beef, pork, chicken, and poultry while providing exceptional customer service. Key duties include serving customers, preparing value-added items, grinding meat, cutting various portions of meat, maintaining cleanliness, assisting with training new associates, and adhering to safety and sanitation regulations. Required qualifications include prior experience with meat cutting, strong communication skills, the ability to adapt and problem-solve, and capacity to manage a fluctuating schedule. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Meat & Seafood equipment
- Prior experience with meat cutting is required
- Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions, priorities and circumstances
- Ability to problem solve and make independent decisions regarding department needs and priorities
- Strong knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety regulations
- Strong sense of urgency, time management, prioritization and multitasking skills
- Ability to accommodate a fluctuating schedule, including evening, weekend and holiday shifts
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift to 100 pounds
