Meat - Assistant Manager

Lead the meat department by planning, organizing, and optimizing materials and human resources to maximize sales and profits while maintaining high-quality merchandise and customer service. Manage inventory, security, and expense control by ordering deliveries, rotating stock using first-in-first-out methods, and controlling proper storage to limit shrink. Coordinate weekly sales meetings with the department manager to establish merchandising and profit objectives, while ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws and sanitation regulations. Resolve customer complaints, conduct discipline fairly, and train associates in accordance with company policy. Monitor cooler temperatures, report refrigeration failures immediately, and practice proper food handling and safety procedures. Assist the meat manager in their absence and perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
