Job Summary
Assistant Meat Manager responsible for partnering with the Meat Manager to lead the Meat & Seafood department, including staffing, training, merchandising, food safety, inventory, and budget goals. Role emphasizes customer service, staff leadership, and adherence to company values, with duties ranging from ordering meat products and ensuring product availability to coaching staff, implementing department standards, and planning promotions and events. Strong focus on supervisory responsibilities, employee development, and maintaining department conditions and standards to meet sales and margin targets. Must demonstrate expertise in inventory management, labor optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with vendors and promotions teams. Qualifications include supervisory/management experience, meat cutting/fabrication experience, customer-service/retail background, and proficiency with MS Office and POS/inventory software.

- Experience in customer service/retail or grocery
- Knowledge of retail Meat and Seafood departments preferred
- Prior meat cutting / fabrication experience highly preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic to intermediate math and computation skills
