MEAL Manager (National Position)

Job Summary
Design and update project logframes and MEAL plans, ensuring systems function effectively and are adapted to changing contexts. Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting using tools like KOBO and SPSS, while overseeing data quality assessments and validation. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to flag performance deviations and facilitate impact, outcome, and process evaluations. Train staff and partners on data collection and capacity building, and ensure accountability mechanisms are applied consistently across projects. Lead internal data quality reviews, document lessons learned, and contribute to narrative reporting for donors. Coordinate with the HQ MEAL team and regional office on technical guidance and regional initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, humanities, quantitative/qualitative research methods, or a related field
- At least Seven years of relevant professional experience in data collection
- Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- A satisfactory Restricted Party Screening
- Misconduct Disclosure Scheme Check
- Receipt of satisfactory references
- Workplace Verification Check
- Strategic thinking, including identification of MEAL system weaknesses and initiative to address problem(s)
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively as required
- Must be based in Damascus, Syria
- Travel: Up to 25% within Syria
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using digital data collection applications (e.g., KoboCollect, Akvo)
