Job Summary
Instruct athletes on techniques, rules, and safety practices while developing and organizing a practice program scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Supervise participants during practices, games, camps, and travel, ensuring all athletes have completed required medical documentation before the season begins. Communicate with parents regarding team rules and athletic performance, while adhering to state, conference, and district regulations governing the athletic program. Hold valid first aid and CPR certifications and complete annual WIAA rule clinics. Complete and submit accident reports for any injuries to the school principal or designee.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 19 or older for Assistant Coach and 21 or older for Head Coach
- Must have current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to acquire it by the start of the season
- Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students and the ability to motivate them toward developing a successful program
- Be able to consistently meet schedule responsibilities for practice, coaching preparation, competition, and related activities
- Ability to plan practices and events, and organize all the necessary materials and personnel to carry out the activity
- Ability to work with students, colleagues, parents, and officials in a positive, professional, and equitable manner
- Must be fingerprinted
- Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Desired Qualifications
- Type II Driver's License is preferred
- Previous coaching experience at the secondary level
