Job Summary
Ensure timely and accurate completion and submission of all MDS assessments in accordance with federal, state regulations, and facility policies. Drive accurate reimbursement by applying PDPM methodologies and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to identify opportunities for optimal index growth. Provide ongoing training to nursing staff on MDS documentation requirements, care plan development, and the impact of accurate charting on reimbursement. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to care planning and problem-solving, while conducting regular audits of MDS documentation to maintain compliance and identify areas for improvement. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all federal and state regulations pertaining to MDS and skilled nursing facility operations to ensure the facility remains deficiency-free.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred in the State of Washington
- Demonstrated expertise in MDS assessment completion, submission, and understanding of its impact on resident care and facility reimbursement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate nursing staff
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and MDS software
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
