Job Summary
Coordinate the accurate and timely completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), care planning, and supporting documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations. Supervise assigned staff by interviewing and training MDS Nurses, planning work assignments, and directing daily operations while ensuring compliance with PDPM and payer requirements. Monitor and evaluate employee performance, resolve complaints, and participate in performance improvement plans. Requires a Registered Nurse license, CPR certification, and strong leadership skills. Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a valid license
- Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior MDS/RAI experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, Quality Measures, and Care Area Assessments and Care Planning processes
- Knowledge of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, including the principles of the Prospective Payment Process (PPS) and Case Mix payment systems, is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions, (word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; oral and written communication skills
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability in independent functioning and strong leadership
