MDG Data Engineer (SAP Master Data Governance)

Job Summary
MDG Data Engineer to configure and enhance SAP MDG data models, implement MDG Central Governance processes, including change requests and workflow design, and build UI components (Fiori) to support MDG processes. Responsibilities include configuring replication via DRF to SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP systems, supporting initial data loads and ongoing data migration, collaborating with Data Services/ETL teams to align staging, key mapping and target systems, enforcing data quality rules and validations, and contributing to MDG playbooks, standards, and best practices. The role spans DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD environments, requires participation in release planning, cutover activities, hypercare, and post-go-live support; and involves ensuring end-to-end governance across master data across SAP and non-SAP systems. Desired skills include MDG data models (BP, Material, Finance, EAM), CR/workflow configurations, MDG replication patterns, UI configuration, data quality enforcement, and familiarity with ETL tools (SAP Data Services/BODS). Educational background includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field and 4-10 years of SAP MDG experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG)
- Solid understanding of MDG data models, Change Request framework
- Workflow configuration
- Business rules and validations
- Experience with DRF replication and MDG integration patterns
- Looking for 4-10 years of experience in SAP MDG
- Willingness to collaborate with Data Services / ETL teams
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA master data objects (BP, Material, Finance, EAM)
- Experience supporting data conversion or migration initiatives
- Familiarity with SAP Data Services (BODS) or similar ETL tools is a strong plus
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and operating models
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
