Job Summary
Manage daily IT system infrastructure, including implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and UNIX/Windows operating systems. Provide Tier I and Tier II problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for escalated tickets, while optimizing system operations, performing capacity analysis, and communicating status to agency management. Configure network components, support the dispatch system, and assist users in accessing IT systems. This role requires 15 years of systems administration experience and a Bachelor's degree, with a salary range determined by scope and qualifications. Located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, the position supports mission-critical engineering solutions within the Defense and Intelligence communities.
Required Qualifications
- Fifteen (15) years' experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- Clearance
- Support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems
- Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
- Support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Support for the dispatch system and hardware problem and remains involved in the resolution process
- Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems
- Installs/loads operating system software
- Troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components
- Implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Skills and experience necessary to support installation and maintenance of Cisco routers and switches in support of enterprise systems for the program
- Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
- Detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware
- Working knowledge and understanding of system administration inter-dependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Analyse and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware applications and software integration
