Job Summary
Inventory Specialist responsible for maintaining item and description integrity, location and stock level accuracy, performing cycle counts, identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies, and collaborating with various departments to resolve issues. Serves as the main focal point for received material, communicates receipts/usage with department heads, and maintains storeroom inventory processes. Works with the Storeroom Manager, assists with annual inventory, notifies buyers of stockouts or quality issues, and conducts data entry of scrap receipts. Proficient in ERP systems (D365 Dynamics, Sage, JD Edwards) and MS Office. Requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to analyze usage to determine mins/max levels and appropriate stock. May assist with purchasing and accounting to reconcile receipts and discrepancies, and participates in process improvements across materials handling and inventory control.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory
- A degree in Inventory and Warehouse Management is preferred
- Basic knowledge of MRO parts and heavy industrial items
- Accurate mathematical calculations and analytical problem solving
- Strong organizational skills and written/verbal communication
- Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office, and applications
- Experience in Sage, JD Edwards, Microsoft D365 Dynamics, or any ERP system (highly preferred)
- Flexibility, sense of urgency, initiative
- Time and priority management
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or other Inventory Certifications is a plus
