Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and automation equipment to ensure production safety and efficiency. Diagnose issues in control circuits, maintain distribution panels, and perform wiring modifications while interpreting schematics. Support preventive maintenance, sensor calibration, and reliability initiatives by documenting activities in CMMS systems. Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and work with engineering teams to implement permanent solutions. Follow strict electrical safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and comply with NFPA and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be experienced in PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLC's: Allen Bradly, Siemens
- AA in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or Mechatronics Technology
- 2 years' related experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
- Certification of AB training courses
- Proficient troubleshooting, including electrical/electronic systems (+/- 10V, 24V, 120V)
- Proactive individual that takes responsibility for their equipment
- Work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability are expected
- Work off-shifts, weekends, and extended shifts (i.e., 12 hrs.)
- Scheduled plant coverage rotation required to remotely log in and troubleshoot machine issues, or, if required, be on site to assist with troubleshooting
- Resolve customer questions and/or concerns without seeking assistance from leadership
- Assist in identifying and procuring equipment and parts necessary for daily maintenance requirements
- Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel related to controls systems
- Train employees on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of existing equipment
- Experience reading electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams
- Follow all electrical safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Maintain compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Ensure electrical installations meet applicable codes and standards
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and motor controls
- Knowledge of HMI systems and industrial networks
- Experience with instrumentation and process controls
- NFPA 70E electrical safety training
- AA in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or Mechatronics Technology preferred
- Certification of AB training courses a plus
