Job Summary
Develop, maintain, and optimise AWS Elemental CDN workflows to support scalable live transmission and partner content distribution. Manage signal routing to Live transmission and partner feeds, handling live transmissions across multiple digital platforms including Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube. Perform critical assessment of video and audio contribution feeds, proactively monitoring with rapid action to restore service using pre-defined emergency procedures. Monitor OTT distribution paths for remote partners, managing platform channel management, ad insertion during live events, and chat moderator assignment. Perform first-level metadata and event logging, oversee asset extraction, and maintain accurate daily logs throughout the event. Manage inbuilt system redundancy to ensure minimum disruption during equipment failures and perform post-event highlight ingest and "goodnighting" of transmission services.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years proven experience with video transmission, encoding and decoding, a Technical Operations Centre, or Broadcast Master Control environment
- Knowledge of cloud-based and on-prem live streaming, encoding, and packaging solutions
- An understanding of the conversion of baseband video to a compressed video format to facilitate delivery across a variety of networks and platforms
- Experience in a live event production operation environment, preferably sports
- Background working with cloud-based and file-accelerated media upload applications
- Experience with OTT monitoring and compliance
- Fundamental understanding of IT networking infrastructure
- Detailed operational knowledge of tools used to diagnose issues with video and audio feeds, including waveform monitors and audio monitoring units
- Understanding of IP-based video transport and compression workflows, including SMPTE ST 2110, SRT & RTMP, to facilitate reliable content delivery across a variety of broadcast and digital distribution platforms
- Degree or certification in a related field
- Ability to work in a live broadcast environment and maintain focus and the ability to accommodate high pressure citations and tight deadlines
- Up-to-date knowledge of new and emerging Broadcast Technologies
- Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite apps, and ability to learn and utilise Google business apps
- The position is based in the greater Dublin area
- The position may require international travel on occasion
