Job Summary
Promote extra-curricular programs in schools and the community while planning and supervising practices and meetings. Teach individual fundamental skills, check participant eligibility including insurance and consent, and recommend equipment for safety and welfare. Provide students with role modeling, emotional support, and guidance. Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics, McCracken County Public Schools policies, and maintain a professional appearance and regular attendance. Requires a high school diploma or 64 semester hours, current first aid and CPR certification, and a successful criminal records check.
Required Qualifications
- Sponsor in various school extra-curricular programs
- Promote extra-curricular programs in the schools and community
- Plan the assigned extra-curricular program
- Organize and supervise practices and meetings
- Teach individual fundamental skills of the extra-curricular activity
- Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent
- Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance
- Recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies as appropriate for the health, safety, and welfare of participants
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Maintain regular attendance
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics
- Follow all McCracken County Public Schools Policies and Procedures
- Fundamentals of various extra-curricular activities
- Health and safety regulations
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Understand and follow oral and written directions
- Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Any combination equivalent to: a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate or a minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university
- Successful completion a criminal records check
- current certification in first aid and CPR
