Job Summary
Monitor students in assigned areas including cafeterias, hallways, and classrooms to ensure a safe environment. Enforce the student code of conduct and report violations to administration. Conduct building sweeps and perimeter checks while performing bus or recess duty. Assist with office duties and operate a personal computer. Maintain confidentiality and establish effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Solve problems with students and reason with them to maintain order.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students and staff
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to problem solve and reason with students
- Ability to sit, talk and hear
- Ability to occasionally stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push items of 50 lbs
