Job Summary
Mattress Prototype Technician responsible for assembling mattress prototypes, including layering, covers, and components according to design specs; operating saws and sewing/tape-edge equipment; contributing to continuous improvement in a collaborative R&D manufacturing setting; maintaining a safe, organized shop; and supporting product development through hands-on fabrication of prototype mattresses and components. Requires high school diploma or GED, proficiency with MS Excel, ability to use measurement and hand/power tools, forklift license, and the physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, bend, and move around a climate-controlled shop; willingness to adapt to varying project timelines and duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experienced in MS Excel
- Ability to obtain a license and drive a forklift in a production environment
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move objects weighing 50 lbs. or more repeatedly throughout the workday
- Must be capable of frequent bending, reaching, and positioning of prototypes, materials and equipment
- Must be able to stand and move throughout the shop environment for extended periods
