Job Summary
Provide legal representation to members in Matrimonial Law before courts and related venues. Meet with clients to determine appropriate courses of action under the direction of Directors. Prepare legal pleadings, stipulations, motions, and other documents while writing, reviewing, and editing correspondence. Discuss case progress with supervisors, obtain court records, and maintain ongoing contact with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. Update case files timely with court notes and correspondence, perform legal research, and train or supervise paralegals. Safeguard confidential materials and actively participate in team meetings, outreach activities, and occasional travel to promote the Legal Services Fund. Utilize case management software, digital evidence preparation tools, and virtual practice platforms like Teams and Zoom court.
Required Qualifications
- JD and authorization to practice law in NYS
- 1 to 3 years experience in Matrimonial Law
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
