Job Summary
Deliver tailored sessions using the Compass learning platform, facilitating progress through questioning, scaffolding, and stretching for small groups of up to six children aged 4–16. Build meaningful relationships within a safe environment while supporting learners through the national curriculum, 11+ entrance exams, and GCSE preparation. Act as a coach and mentor to inspire curiosity and develop a lifelong love of learning, prioritizing student safety and wellbeing. This permanent, part-time role is based at the Oxford centre, with shifts available Tuesday through Friday and Saturday mornings.
Required Qualifications
- Age 16 or over
- Right to work in the UK
- Grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent
- Acceptance of predicted GCSE grades if results received within the next 3 months
- Confidence leading sessions with small groups (1:6)
- Ability to inspire children to engage in their learning
- Use of positive behaviour management strategies
- Consistently prioritising safety and wellbeing
- Comfort supporting children aged 4–16 across the national curriculum
- Support for 11+ entrance exams
- Support for GCSE content
- Commitment to building meaningful, long-term relationships
- Providing consistency and stability
- On-site work at the Oxford centre
- Permanent, part-time contract
- Minimum of 6 hours a week
- Work at least 2 different weekdays
- Availability for Tuesday 3:30-4pm
- Availability for Wednesday 3:30-4pm
- Availability for Thursday 3:30-4pm
- Availability for Friday 3:30-4pm
- Availability for Morning/afternoon Saturday
- Not being a summer-only role
- Support throughout the next academic year and beyond
- Satisfactory references
- Enhanced DBS check
- Full employment history with all gaps clearly explained and evidenced
