Job Summary
Deliver tailored sessions using the Compass learning tool, facilitating progress through questioning, scaffolding, and stretching for small groups of six. Build meaningful relationships with children aged 4–16, supporting them through the national curriculum, 11+ entrance exams, and GCSE preparation within a safe, inspiring environment. Act as a coach and mentor to inspire curiosity and develop a lifelong love of learning. This permanent, part-time on-site role at the MK Kingston centre requires a minimum of 6 hours weekly across two weekdays. Candidates must be 16 or over with UK work rights and GCSE grades 6 or above in Maths and English.
Required Qualifications
- Age 16 or over
- Right to work in the UK
- Grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent
- Acceptance of predicted GCSE grades if results received within the next 3 months
- Confidence leading sessions with small groups (1:6)
- Ability to inspire children to engage in their learning
- Use of positive behaviour management strategies
- Consistently prioritising safety and wellbeing
- Comfort supporting children aged 4–16 across the national curriculum
- Knowledge of 11+ entrance exams
- Knowledge of GCSE content
- Commitment to building meaningful, long-term relationships
- Providing consistency and stability
- On-site work at MK KINGSTON centre
- Permanent, part time contract
- Minimum of 6 hours a week
- Work at least 2 different weekdays
- Tuesday 3:20pm availability
- Wednesday 3:20pm availability
- Thursday 3:30pm availability
- Friday 3:20pm availability
- Saturday 9:30am availability
- Saturday 1pm availability
- Not a summer-only role
