Job Summary
Deliver tailored sessions using the Compass learning platform, facilitating progress through questioning, scaffolding, and stretching for children aged 4–16. Build meaningful relationships with each learner in a 1:6 small group ratio, supporting them through the national curriculum, 11+ entrance exams, and GCSE preparation. Create a safe environment where students can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning while prioritizing their safety and wellbeing. Work on-site at the Camberley centre in a permanent, part-time role with shifts on Tuesday through Friday and Saturday mornings.
Required Qualifications
- Age 16 or over
- Right to work in the UK
- Grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent
- Acceptance of predicted GCSE grades if results received within the next 3 months
- Commitment to building meaningful, long-term relationships
- Confidence leading sessions with small groups (1:6)
- Ability to inspire children to engage in their learning
- Use of positive behaviour management strategies
- Consistent prioritisation of children's safety and wellbeing
- Comfort supporting children aged 4–16 across the national curriculum
- Knowledge of 11+ entrance exams
- Knowledge of GCSE content
- Ability to work on-site at the Camberley centre
- Availability for permanent, part-time work
- Minimum of 6 hours a week
- Work at least 2 different weekdays
- Shift availability: 3:30-4pm Tuesday
- Shift availability: 3:30-4pm Wednesday
- Shift availability: 3:30-4pm Thursday
- Shift availability: 3:30-4pm Friday
- Shift availability: Morning/afternoon Saturday
- Full employment history with all gaps clearly explained and evidenced
- Satisfactory references
- Enhanced DBS check
- Understanding that the role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
- Willingness to provide relevant disclosures in line with DBS and safer recruitment requirements
