Job Summary
Teach secondary mathematics courses using approved curriculum and instructional materials while developing daily and unit lesson plans that promote student engagement and conceptual understanding. Deliver inquiry-based and problem-solving focused instruction, design real-world learning experiences, and integrate technology, graphing tools, and digital resources into classroom activities. Differentiate instruction through individual, small-group, and whole-class strategies, assess student learning using formative and summative assessments, and maintain accurate student progress records. Establish a positive, respectful classroom environment, collaborate with parents and staff, and supervise students during assigned school activities and extracurricular programs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a valid Virginia Teaching License.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in Mathematics
- Eligible for or currently holding a valid Virginia Teaching License
- Tuberculin (TB) screening confirming absence of contagious tuberculosis
- Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and instructional practices
- Ability to deliver inquiry-based and differentiated instruction
- Proficiency with instructional technology, graphing tools, and computer applications
- Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
