Job Summary
Teach Mathematics to grades 4-8 at Prince George’s Christian Academy, delivering standards-based instruction integrated with biblical principles, planning lessons aligned to prescribed scope and sequence, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate grade records, and collaborating with colleagues and administrators. Create a culturally responsive classroom, use varied instructional strategies, oversee paraprofessional educators and volunteers when applicable, communicate with parents, and participate in staff meetings and professional development; requires MSDE certification eligibility and commitment to the school’s Christian mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education
- Eligibility for MSDE Standard Professional Certificate or certification
- Minimum of 1 year of successful teaching experience (prefer math teaching)
- Membership in good standing of a local Bible-believing church or willingness to become a member
- Agreement with PGCA articles of faith and mission
- Knowledge of instruction, assessment, and multicultural education practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration
