Mathematics Instructor - Adjunct

Job Summary
Conduct weekly instruction and classroom maintenance while maintaining accurate daily attendance and weekly grades. Administer pre- and post-testing, review student records, and notify the registrar of roster changes. Prevent unauthorized student entry, manage excessive breaks, and ensure classes conclude on schedule. Arrive 20 minutes prior to sessions fully prepared and remain available for advising 15 minutes before class starts. Submit grades by Monday 5pm EST following each term and maintain clean, orderly classrooms. Complete annual professional development plans, tutor students as needed, and attend graduation ceremonies. Adhere to all state, federal, and university laws regarding safety, health, and conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Mathematics or a closely related field
- Extensive knowledge of mathematics, including pure and applied areas relevant to the curriculum
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching mathematics at the college or university level
- Ability to design and deliver engaging instruction in classroom and/or online settings
- Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems (LMS)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to teach a range of courses and adapt to varying teaching schedules
Desired Qualifications
- Strong record of research, scholarship, or professional contributions in mathematics (preferred for tenure-track roles)
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and academic advising (preferred)
