Job Summary
Mathematics Department Chairperson for Grades 9–12 leading the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the secondary mathematics program. Responsibilities include teaching 1–3 mathematics classes, supervising and developing mathematics instructional staff, leading curriculum design aligned to New Jersey standards, analyzing student achievement data to guide instruction, coordinating department meetings and professional development, and partnering with school and network leaders to ensure consistent curriculum implementation and instructional practices. Requires a valid New Jersey supervisor/principal certificate or eligibility, a Master’s degree preferred, and at least three years of successful mathematics teaching experience, with a track record in instructional leadership and data-driven improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Supervisor, Principal, School Administrator Certificate, or Certificate of Eligibility
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in mathematics
- Demonstrated success in instructional leadership, coaching, curriculum development, or department-level leadership
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards, curriculum design, assessment practices, and instructional best practices in mathematics
- Experience analyzing and using student achievement data to improve instructional outcomes
- Experience planning and facilitating professional development for educators
- Strong commitment to educational equity and student achievement
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Valid New Jersey driver's license
- Must pass a criminal history background check
