Job Summary
Design, formulate, and conduct mathematical and statistical analyses of health surveillance, medical, personnel, operational, and deployment-related datasets to support Air Force research and readiness initiatives. Develop innovative analytical methodologies using Python, R, SAS, or MATLAB to solve complex operational and public health challenges, including longitudinal analysis, predictive modeling, and simulation. Retrieve, integrate, and manage data from multiple military repositories while documenting code and establishing data storage architecture. Prepare technical reports, white papers, and presentations to disseminate findings, and collaborate with epidemiologists and government stakeholders on multidisciplinary research teams.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a closely related quantitative discipline approved by USAFSAM/FES
- Minimum three (3) years of professional experience applying mathematical or statistical methods in a research, healthcare, military, or analytical environment
- Proficiency in at least two of the following programming or analytical languages: Python, R, MATLAB, Maple, Visual Basic, or another approved mathematical programming language
- Experience with logical operations, set theory, and advanced quantitative analysis
- Strong analytical skills in mathematical modeling, statistical modeling, and longitudinal data analysis
- Experience validating and verifying statistical and mathematical models
- Ability to learn emerging analytical technologies, including Tableau, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Viya, Qualtrics, and Envision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills
- Ability to obtain required database access permissions
- Ability to complete HIPAA training
- Ability to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

- Experience supporting force health protection, operational readiness, or human performance research
