Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one math instruction for students in grades K–12, focusing on building conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical confidence rather than simply completing homework. Identify gaps in foundational skills and align sessions with personalized academic roadmaps using SiSTEM's planning tools. Communicate progress and strategy with families while maintaining high standards of preparation and professionalism. You set your own rates and retain 100% of earnings, matching with students based on specific subject expertise and learning needs rather than random assignments. The platform provides scheduling and session tracking tools to help you build a long-term client base with engaged families already invested in their child's growth.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience in math
- Deep expertise in at least one of the math levels listed above
- Experience working with motivated students who are in honors, Pre-AP, AP, gifted, or test prep settings
- A track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, or master concepts they previously struggled with
- Clear, patient communication and the ability to make math click for students who think they're 'not a math person'
