Job Summary
Teach mathematical concepts to students using the Mathnasium Method, adapting instructional materials to meet their varying needs and interests. Assist students with homework, grade assignments, and provide positive, constructive feedback to build confidence and self-esteem. Actively engage learners during sessions, manage their time while at the center, and re-engage distracted students. Deliver exceptional customer service by building relationships with students and families. This part-time role requires Math proficiency up to Pre-Calculus and availability during business hours, including evenings and Sundays. Candidates must pass a math literacy test and background check, with US work authorization required. The position is located at the Mathnasium center and does not allow remote work.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- Math proficiency up to Pre-Calculus
- Ability to pass a math literacy test
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to a versatile environment and handle multiple concurrent assignments
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Reliability, responsibility, and dependability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to pass a background check
- Open availability during business operating hours, including evenings and Sundays
- Strong comprehension of Microsoft Office and Google Docs
- US work authorization
- Ability to work during instructional hours Non Summer [ 3:00-7:30 pm Sunday through Thursday], Summer [2:00-7:30 pm Monday through Friday]
