Job Summary

Teach mathematics courses across Levels 1-5 to adult learners preparing for GED or National External Diploma Program exams, covering foundational numeracy through advanced functions and systems of equations. Design and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with state standards and testing requirements while maintaining accurate attendance, grading, and assessment records. Collaborate with Student Support Services, volunteer tutors, and peers to coordinate cross-subject integration and ensure equitable, inclusive classroom environments. Participate in professional learning circles and ongoing development to strengthen instructional practices and stay current with curriculum standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education with a concentration in Math, Adult Education, or a related field
  • Experience with Common Core and/or College and Career Readiness Standards for Adults
  • Experience teaching mathematics for the GED and/or at the high school level
  • Familiarity with CASAS and Accuplacer
  • Strong cultural competency skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Occasionally lift and/or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds
