Job Summary
Deliver high-quality, data-driven mathematics instruction aligned with the school's mission and differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including Present Levels of Performance and measurable goals. Participate as an active member of the Planning & Placement Team and utilize varied instructional strategies to help students achieve academic and IEP goals. Collect, analyze, and maintain progress monitoring data to inform instructional decisions. Create and maintain an orderly learning environment that accounts for students' social, emotional, and executive functioning needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in special education, education, mathematics, or a related field
- Valid Connecticut state endorsement (165): Special Education: Comprehensive (Grades K-12), or (029): Mathematics (Grades 7-12), or eligibility for certification
- Minimum of two (2) years experience teaching special education student populations with language-based learning differences
- Familiar with the IEP process and collection of progress monitoring data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, enthusiastic style to fit with our small-team environment
