Job Summary
Deliver targeted instruction in Grades 9-12 mathematics using diverse curriculum materials and advanced educational software tailored to student needs. Develop comprehensive daily lesson plans and structured schedules aligned with state guidelines, while collaborating with special education staff to differentiate instruction for diverse physical, emotional, and educational requirements. Implement behavioral standards and classroom management practices to maintain a safe learning environment, and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and challenges. Assess student performance through data collection to inform instructional practices, and stay current with research-based educational innovations. Respond to formal evaluations and feedback to foster professional growth, contributing to the broader mission of empowering students in an alternative education setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study
- Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid AZ state IVP clearance card
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid AZ state teaching credential
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience working with curriculum development, classroom management, differentiation and instruction in an education setting
- Prior teaching experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's)
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs at various levels
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions
- Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid AZ state teaching credential preferred
- Prior teaching experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter; preferably in an alternative, special education or behavioral health program setting
