Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements, tailoring instruction to accommodate differences in individual student needs. Plan and employ instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology aligned with learning styles and requirements set by the Texas Education Agency and district policies. Assess student learning styles to inform instructional planning; collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP; work with colleagues to set instructional goals and methods; supervise instructional aides and volunteers; conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement; sponsor extracurricular activities as approved; maintain a positive classroom environment and uphold Student Code of Conduct; communicate professionally with parents, students, colleagues, and the community; participate in staff development and comply with regulations and policies; follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- CPR/AED certification for Physical Education teachers (if applicable)
