Job Summary
Math Specialist Elementary at Burlington Public Schools (Fox Hill Elementary School) focusing on K-5 mathematics leadership, curriculum development, and instructional coaching. Responsibilities include providing curriculum and instructional leadership, coaching teachers in mathematics, attending grade-level and district meetings, analyzing student data to inform intervention plans, articulating and overseeing intervention plans, supporting teachers during intervention and math blocks, facilitating interventionist meetings and embedded professional development, collaborating with Math Curriculum Coordinators and tutors/teachers, planning transitions for staff, designing lessons with differentiation for small-group instruction, coordinating schedules for math support, organizing family math nights, serving on the Math Curriculum Committee, and regular collaboration with Math Curriculum Coordinators and principals to implement district goals. Qualifications include elementary math certification, at least 5 years of lead classroom experience, subject-matter expertise, knowledge of assessment practices, comfort with technology in instruction, curriculum development experience, and ability to collaborate across educational roles. Required Qualifications
- Elementary certification: Math Specialist preferred
- At least 5 years of lead classroom experience
- Demonstrated content area expertise
- Knowledge of assessment practices, including examples of use of assessment to inform instruction and program evaluation
- Background and confidence using technology to support instructional strategies in content area and infusion of emerging tools into curriculum development
- Evidence of curriculum development experience
- Ability to collaborate with teachers in a variety of educational roles (interventionists, special educators, etc.)
