Job Summary
Math Resource Teacher for Grades 1-4 in a Catholic 10-month, part-time program. Responsibilities include assisting teachers with mathematics lessons, providing added scaffolding for students with Learning Support Plans and those at risk of academic failure, delivering individual and small-group support, reinforcing mathematical concepts and computational skills, monitoring student understanding and providing feedback to teachers, preparing instructional materials and resources to increase differentiation, maintaining records of student participation and progress, assisting with classroom management, supervising students during activities and transitions, and supporting the use of educational technology as directed by primary teachers.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or college coursework in education, mathematics, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics concepts appropriate for Grades 1-4.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other professionals.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an instructional team.
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting student achievement.
- Understanding of instructional support practices and student learning needs.
- Ability to explain mathematical concepts in a clear and supportive manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
