Job Summary

Design interventions and write lesson plans for individual students and small groups struggling with mathematics. Provide high-quality math instruction using research-based Tier II and III strategies to bring student skills to grade level. Monitor student progress using data-driven instruments, maintain documentation of performance, and communicate updates to parents and teachers. Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and curriculum committees to evaluate programs, select materials, and implement the Newark Opportunity Youth Network school model. Assist in identifying students for intervention placement and participate in school team decision-making regarding student achievement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, or related field
  • Valid New Jersey School Certification in Math (K-8 or 9-12)
  • Demonstrated success in supporting underserved populations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families, staff and community
  • Successful in creating collaborative relationships or coalitions
  • Commitment to OYN school model and implementation with fidelity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of office productivity software
  • Robust analytical skills, with an ability to use data to drive student achievement
  • Capacity to personalize students through differentiation, including use of technology
  • Required criminal history background check
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
  • NJ residency
