Job Summary
Math Instructor to support the Naval Service Training Command’s Future Sailor Preparatory Program at the US Navy Recruit Training Command. Teach Arithmetic Reasoning, Algebra, Geometry, and related topics using official curricula; conduct small group and individualized tutoring; develop and document lesson and test plans; ensure proper setup and use of instructional equipment; maintain student records with PII/CUI; collaborate with FSPC staff and COR; assist in preparing classrooms and materials; maintain a professional instructional environment and meet or exceed NITC standards; candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), be a US citizen, and secure a Secret Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics education or closely related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3+ years in (young) adult education or related setting
- Experience teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2
- Experience developing long and short-range planning for academic improvement
- Training: ITC or equivalent instructor training or academic credentialing
- Must read/write/speak fluent English
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with technical training equipment and devices (AECs, PDAs, VTT, etc.)
