Job Summary
AoPS Academy is seeking a Part-Time Math Instructor to teach advanced math using company curricula in after-school and weekend classes at our Irvine campus. Responsibilities include leading small classes (up to 16 students), engaging students, managing the classroom, grading and providing feedback on tests, building relationships with students and families, and inspiring critical thinking in math. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree ( STEM or education strongly preferred), has math content expertise, and prior teaching or tutoring experience; formal teaching credentials are not required. Schedule features after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and weekend classes; each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes, with a minimum commitment of about 3 hours per week per class. Summer camps run Monday–Friday for 3 hours daily. This is an in-person role located in Irvine, CA; applicants must be authorized to work in the US, with no sponsorship offered.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong content knowledge in math.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students.
- Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
