Job Summary
Provide individualized and small-group math tutoring for courses ranging from general education to Calculus at the Monahan Learning Center, including Career Math, College Algebra, General Statistics, Math for Liberal Arts, and related courses. Collaborate with faculty to assess tutoring needs, obtain appropriate materials, and coordinate tutoring with class requirements. Supervise MLC Student Learning Assistants, track TRIO grant compliance, investigate new materials/methods, assist in serving TRIO/SSS students, and maintain accurate records of student contacts. Position is 163-day/1304, part-time with ~40 hours/week during fall/spring and August 2026 start; salary $38,000–$42,000 depending on qualifications and experience; benefits include medical/dental/life insurance, PERA retirement, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field with a strong mathematical background
- Tutoring, teaching or training experience
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
