Job Summary
High school math teaching role in a South Carolina charter school. Develop and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans, integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies, adapt instruction for diverse learners, and promote mastery-based, project- or competency-based learning. Establish a positive classroom environment, implement policies, foster character development, critical thinking, collaboration, and student ownership. Use assessments and data to guide instruction, maintain grades and attendance records, participate in state testing, and collaborate with colleagues while complying with state/federal laws and charter policies. Requires a Bachelor's degree and SC teaching certification (or charter-school eligible alternatives) and background checks. May require engagement in extended learning time or enrichment activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- South Carolina teaching certification or qualification under charter-school hiring flexibility (e.g., out-of-state certification, alternative certification, field expertise) consistent with S.C. Code § 59-40-50(4)
- Satisfactory completion of state and federal background checks (including FBI fingerprinting)
- Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
- Ability to implement the charter school’s instructional approach and support its mission
