Job Summary
Maternal Flight Nurse role leading transports and providing safe, comprehensive care for obstetrical and neonatal patients during transport by rotor wing, fixed-wing, and ground ambulance. Responsibilities include acting as team leader on transports, performing high-risk perinatal assessments and treatments, documenting care and billing, maintaining communication with PHI Health management and external partners, contributing to PR/marketing activities, and maintaining clinical knowledge through meetings, labs, rotations, and CE. Requires active RN license, NCC obstetrical nursing certification (within 2 years), BLS/NRP/ACLS, completion of Maternal Flight Nurse Education Program, physical clearance, and near-base residency feasibility. Schedule varies across bases (Arizona region, Phoenix area); sign-on bonus up to $65,000. Preference for candidates within a 60-mile drive of the base.
Required Qualifications
- Active State RN license
- Minimum of three years recent experience in high risk obstetrical care unit in a tertiary center
- Nationally certified in NCC – Obstetrical Nursing or equivalent within two years of hire
- Current BLS, NRP and ACLS
- Successful completion of Maternal Flight Nurse Education Program
- Pass pre-placement physical and functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility, lift 100 pounds)
- Drug screening and background check
- Within one-hour drive or sixty miles from base (preferred)
