Job Summary
Part-Time Visiting Professor role focusing on Maternal/Child Nursing mentorship and instruction. Mentors nursing students in inpatient clinical settings with a family-centered focus on maternal/newborn care, covering normal and high-risk factors, complications, and alterations. Responsibilities include implementing curriculum and program outcomes through clinical teaching, planning clinical experiences, direct supervision and evaluation of students, remediation support, staying current with policies, developing and posting written clinical assignments, timely feedback, contributing to program development, and potentially teaching didactic content under supervision. Requires a master's or doctoral nursing degree, MO nursing license, and recent instructional experience; ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, professionalism, and commitment to student success, with proximity to Columbia, MO for clinical placements.
Required Qualifications
- A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
- An unencumbered professional nursing license in MO
- At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
- Live within a reasonable proximity of Columbia, MO - will be teaching at the clinical locations assigned per session
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
