Materials Testing Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
Perform routine chemical and mechanical material testing in accordance with written procedures, generating and reporting results while maintaining proper documentation. Assist in drafting work instructions, maintaining laboratory equipment and workspaces, and supporting material verification activities with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams. Procure supplies, manage inventory, and promptly notify the supervisor of any safety or quality concerns. Requires a high school diploma, zero to three years of experience, and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime and weekend availability on short notice is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Zero to three years of laboratory or manufacturing experience, or an associate degree in a physical science or technical field
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to follow instructions, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Solid analytical and organizational abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends on short notice
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Section III and VIII, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, NQA-1, and 10CFR21
- Knowledge of basic chemistry techniques such as titration, gravimetric analysis, and solution preparation
- Familiarity with mechanical testing methods including tensile, hardness, and impact testing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
