Job Summary
Perform materials testing, including on-site tests, soil sampling, and data collection, while conducting laboratory testing of soils and concrete in strict accordance with applicable standards. Undertake civil construction inspections, including QC & QA monitoring to confirm compliance with approved drawings and contract specifications, and be responsible for material quantity control. Perform compaction testing of granular material at specified lift intervals using a nuclear densometer. This 3-month contract position involves a 2-week-on, 2-week-off rotation in a remote setting, requiring a Class G driver's licence and willingness to travel across Canada.
Required Qualifications
- college diploma from a Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Survey Technician program
- 5+ years of surveying/civil construction experience
- High motivation with results-oriented focus
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- Full Basic Underground Common Core
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Valid, Class G driver's licence
