Job Summary
Perform materials testing, including on-site tests, soil sampling, and data collection. Conduct laboratory testing of soils and concrete in strict accordance with applicable standards, including documentation and reporting of results. Undertake civil construction inspections, including QC & QA monitoring to confirm compliance with approved drawings and contract specifications. Be responsible for material quantity control and perform compaction testing of granular material at specified lift intervals using a nuclear densometer. This 3-month contract role involves a 2-week-on, 2-week-off rotation in a remote setting, requiring travel and work outside in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- college diploma from a Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Survey Technician program
- 5+ years of surveying/civil construction experience
- High motivation with results-oriented focus
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- Full Basic Underground Common Core
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Valid, Class G driver's licence
