Job Summary
Perform materials testing, including on-site soil sampling, data collection, and laboratory analysis of soils and concrete in strict accordance with applicable standards. Undertake civil construction inspections, quality control, and quantity control, and perform compaction testing of granular material using a nuclear densometer. Work on client-driven rotations for mining and infrastructure projects, reporting to the Project Manager. This 3-month contract position requires a 2-week-on, 2-week-off rotation in a remote setting with travel and outdoor work in all weather conditions. The role supports civil engineering and survey services for a multi-disciplinary consulting firm recognized for its innovative use of emerging technologies to improve work efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications
- college diploma from a Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Survey Technician program
- 5+ years of surveying/civil construction experience
- High motivation with results-oriented focus
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- Full Basic Underground Common Core
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Valid, Class G driver's licence
