Job Summary
Materials Supervisor oversees material plans and the procurement of raw materials to support production. Responsibilities include managing inventory to maintain steady material flow, processing supplier forecasts, supporting launches with floor and office system changes, reviewing Bills of Materials in ERP (QAD), identifying supply risks, and ensuring materials align with production plans. The role involves substantial time on the production floor, coordination with cross-functional teams, and providing leadership/back-up support in Material departments. Requires experience with ERP/Kanban, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks (lifting up to 50lbs) and forklift operation. Night shift and in-person collaboration across sites in Indiana are expected.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Materials Management or Supply Chain
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration) or equivalent combination of advanced schooling and/or work experience
- Proficiency with ERP and Kanban Systems
- Ability to plan and analyze production requirements and implement supporting material systems and business processes
- Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for prolonged periods, and operate forklift
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work overtime with short notice
