Job Summary

Manage inventory and logistics for CSX locomotive fleet maintenance in a 24/7 shop environment. Pull materials from warehouse, issue parts to locomotives with serial numbers and service sheets, and manage stockouts by tracking estimated arrival times. Perform daily cycle counts, forecast inbound material needs, and execute quality control on shipments using the Ryder portal and Oracle systems. Operate forklifts, compile inventory metrics, process sales and warranty claims, and coordinate physical inventory counts. Retrieve repair cycle assets, restock warehouse floors, and fulfill daily material requests from Circle of Service shops. Work non-standard shop coverage schedules while maintaining safety equipment compliance and accurate transaction recording.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to operate multiple computer applications and enter/research information accurately and efficiently
  • Successful previous experience working in a logistics or shipping/receiving work environment
  • Previous experience safely operating forklifts and other shop equipment
  • A high level of attention to detail in juggling multiple duties/responsibilities
  • Must have the ability to work in warehouse/shop environment
  • Previous experience or ability to work non-standard/shop coverage work schedules
  • The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance
  • A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
  • Wearing of the proper safety equipment is a must
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse machinery
  • Lifting and placing items of various sizes and weights (up to the restricted max weight) on/off shelves
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, ear protection, eye protection, and proper feet protection
  • Walking throughout the day
  • Walking up and down stairs
  • Climbing on/off of locomotives
  • Observing small writing and labels
  • Wearing all required personal protective gear (hardhat, steel toe boots, ear plugs, eye protection) throughout the day
  • Working overnight shifts and multiple days in a row, as required
