Job Summary

As a Materials Specialist, participate in materials development activities and support multi-disciplinary engineering teams on technology and product development programs. This role covers the entire product life cycle from concept generation to in-service support. Key duties include analyzing materials test and design data, developing new materials (formulation, evaluation, maturation), overseeing materials testing by internal/external vendors, recommending materials selection and validation approaches for component design, reviewing technical drawings for material specification compliance, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team on aerospace component design, and engaging in professional development through mentoring, conferences, and short courses. The position is hybrid with an average of three days per week in the office and relocation assistance is provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Entry-level/Recent graduates suitable
  • Strong academic background in materials science (preferred)
  • Desirable: familiarity with MATLAB/JMP, Design of Experiment, materials testing methods
